Therefore, before we do floorboard sanding, we always inspect the floorboards to make sure that, where needed, wood floor repairs are done before that sanding. As part of our floorboard repairs and replacement services, we always aim to secure any loose floorbaord, but where the board is damaged to an extend beyond repair then we supply and installed reclaimed floorbaords to do a replacement. It is very important that the replacement seasoned floorboards are carefullys elected to match the colour and the sage of your particular flooring as much as possible. This ensures a more uniform appearance once floors are sanded and varnished.

• How often to re-wax my wooden flooring?

  Hi Jim,

  For higher traffic areas like hallways, kitchen / dining room, living room re-oiling of the wooden floors is recommended every 18 - 24 months. For bedrooms, upper landing and areas with less use, this can be every 4-5 years.

• Can you repair parquet flooring if blocks are missing?

  Hi and thank you for contacting us regarding parquet floor restoration and repair.

  We regularly restore and repair parquet flooring where blocks are missing or damaged. In such cases we always try to source reclaimed or new parquet blocks which match the size of the existing flooring. If the parquet blocks that you have sourced have bitumen residue, however, we would not recommend their use simply because removing the bitumen is a very difficult and time consuming thing to do, which makes the whole process of parquet floor restoration very expensive. Therefore, we would advise you to use new parquet flooring instead or to contact a professional parquet floor restoration company like Floorworks™ to do this for you.

• What is the lead time for your floor sanding services?

  Lead times can vary, but usually we accommodate works within 2 weeks even in the summer when there is higher demand for the service. We do get cancellations and availability can be random, best is to check with member of the team if your floor restoration works are urgent.

• How can I pay for my floor restoration service?

  On completion of your floor renovation service you will receive invoice for the works and we accept payment by card, bank transfer or cash. Payment options and our details are available with our online sales invoice.

• Do you do re-oiling of wooden floors?

  Yes. We provide re-oiling / re-waxing service for wooden floors, with original oil-based finish. We can also do a site visit to assess if the condition is applicable for re-oiling service or floor sanding and refinishing will be required instead. Please, be prepared with some photos as well, showing the condition of the floors.
