• Can you install reclaimed parquet blocks in my house?

  Installation of reclaimed parquet blocks, particularly ones that have been previously installed using black resin are very difficult to re-use and re-install. They also need a fair amount of parquet blocks restoration and preparation work to be done to clean them and prepare them before they can be re-fitted. This makes the whole process very time consuming and hence very expensive.

  Therefore, you might be better off buying and getting new parquet flooring installed.

  Also, bear in mind that installation of reclaimed parquet flooring may not result in the same smooth and uniform appearance, which you get with new parquet blocks.

  Therefore, while we can install reclaimed parquet flooring, we would strongly advise you to first consider the option of having new parquet blocks, which may be cheaper and better option.

• What does polish mean and can it be done on engineered flooring?

  Hi and thank you for contacting us with your question about cleaning and polishing of engineered wood floors.

  The first thing to note is that cleaning and polishing services are not suitable for floors that are badly damaged or where the existing sealant has worn out. This service is intended for wooden floors in relatively good condition, with no areas lacking sealant. Cleaning and polishing provide an extra coat and additional protection to the existing sealant, thereby extending the life of varnished floors before they need to be sanded and revarnished. This service can be performed on any wooden floors sealed with varnish, including engineered wood flooring, parquet flooring, and solid wood flooring.

  However, if the sealant on your floors has already worn out, cleaning and polishing will not be effective. In such cases, thorough sanding and revarnishing are required to completely remove the existing sealant and apply new varnish to the sanded floors.

• Can you remove fireplace hearth & extend my parquet flooring?

  Hi and thank you for your question regarding parquet flooring restoration and fireplace heart removal.

  We can certainly help with the removal of your fireplace and the extension of your parquet floor using matching parquet blocks. After the fireplace hearth is removed, we will restitch the parquet flooring. Once sanded and revarnished, the floors will have a uniform appearance, making it look as if the fireplace was never there.

• Can I book floor sanding service while I am away on business or holiday?

  Permanent personal presence is not required during the time of the floor sanding works and we offer key collection and return service.

  However, we strongly advise that either yourself or a representative on your behalf is available when required for decisions related to colour, finish and furniture, which will require moving around by our team.

  Also, please note that while we take all reasonable care to ensure that your property is safe and secure, we are not responsible for guarding your property, particularly when there are other builders on site. Therefore, please make sure that you discuss any particular arrangements with us in advance if you are planning to be away during a floor sanding service.

• Do you provide help with furniture?

  Yes, our team is available to help to move larger pieces of furniture out of the areas or we can complete the works in stages, in case the furniture cannot be moved out of the area. Staging of restoration works will usually add an extra day (or more) and therefore a surchase is applicable.
